Rooting gels accelerate the conversion of "Plant Stalk" cells into "Root Bud" cells and that's where the root actually grows out of. And where rooting gels start the rooting process once there are actually roots you are going to want to add rooting accelerators like the GH Rapid Start or the House & Garden version Roots Excelurator because accelerators are hormones that lock into receptors on the roots. That's why you don't use rooting hormones to start the roots (because there are no receptors) or rooting gels on clones that already have roots. Get it.
